Meeting nutritional needs
When designing the meals and dietary plans, the following are taken into account:
- The daily energy requirements (caloric intake) of children.
- The daily needs for macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats, dietary fiber).
- The daily needs for essential micronutrients (e.g., calcium, iron, folic acid), which are critical for normal growth and function during childhood and adolescence.
- The principles of healthy eating, along with the characteristics of the traditional Greek diet.
