With their continuous and invaluable assistance, AB Vassilopoulos has secured over 1.380.000 healthy and nutritious meals so far. Especially for this current school year, thanks to their recent donation, 86.957 healthy meals will be offered to students in need.

For one more year the Prefecture of Sterea Ellada (Central Greece) cooperates with the Prolepsis Institute within the framework of the DIATROFI Program, securing for the 2022-2023 school year the daily provision of healthy meals for students in primary and secondary education.
The initiative of the Prefecture of Sterea Ellada provides support to hundreds of students and their families in the region of Central Greece who have been affected the most by the crisis. Thanks to the contribution of the Prefecture, 104 schools with 4,094 students from the regional units of Evia, Viotia, Fthiotida, Fokida, and Evrytania participate in the Program.

THE HELLENIC INITIATIVE CANADA
The Hellenic Initiative Canada has been supporting the DIATROFI Program of the Prolepsis Institute since 2018. Thanks to their new valuable contribution, 17,370 healthy and nutritious meals will be distributed to 281 students of schools in vulnerable areas of Greece, for the 2021-2022 school year.

The Social and Cultural Affairs Welfare Foundation (KIKPE) has been supporting the Program DIATROFI for eight consecutive years. During the school year 2019-2020, thanks to the generous support of KIKPE, 17,000 healthy meals will be offered to 166 students participating in the DIATROFI Program. The Greek Shipowners’ Non-Profit Social Welfare Company SYN-ENOSIS supports students in need in remote areas across Greece through the DIATROFI Program. The Municipality of North Kynouria is the first municipality in Greece that has secured since 2016 daily healthy meals for all elementary students of the region. The DIATROFI Program will be implemented in the elementray schools of North Kynouria in 2018-2019 for a third consecutive school year.

Athens International Airport (AIA) supports the DIATROFI Program for a fourth consecutive school year. Thanks to the kind donation of AIA, daily food provision was secured for the students of two additional schools in Attica.

Once again the 2016-2017 school year the Grace Foundation supported the Program DIATROFI. One additional school with 185 students in Attica Region participated in the Program with this kind donation. It is estimated that 25.000 meals were distributed thanks to the donation of the Grace Foundation until the end of the school year.

The non-profit organization “World in Harmony” continued to support the Program DIATROFI for the school year (2016-2017) and contributed to our efforts to reduce food insecurity experienced by school students in Greece. Thanks to the kind donation of “World in Harmony” we offered 4,587 healthy meals to the students of elementary schools in the area of Xanthi. Moreover, 4,587 additional meals were distributed thanks to the matching funds provided by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, Founding Donor of the DIATROFI program.

The It’s All Greek To Me Committee Comedy Gala supported the Program DIATROFI for the 2016-2017 school year and contributed to our efforts to combat food insecurity experienced by school students in Greece. With the funds raised at the Comedy Gala in Melbourne (22 April 2016) 8.325 free healthy meals were distributed to 55 students of the DIATROFI Program during the 2016-2017 school year. Moreover, with the matching funds provided by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), founding donor of the Program, 8.325 additional meals were offered reaching a total of 16,650 meals for 110 students.

The expansion of the DIATROFI Program in remote and rural areas of Greece was funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Grants Greek NGO Programme “We are all Citizens”. The Bodossaki Foundation is the Fund Operator of this Programme. The Programme aims to strengthen civil society and enhance the contribution of NGOs to social justice, democracy and sustainable development.
