Specialist in health promotion and nutritionist of Prolepsis informed ZARIFOPOULOS S.A. employees on the principles of healthy diets, the different food groups (quantity and frequency on consumption of different foods), disease prevention, and physical activity. Advice on how to make smart nutritional decisions during working hours was also presented. At the end of the seminar Chef Mr. Miliopoulos, prepared a healthy and easy recipes which the employees had the opportunity to sample. Informative material was also distributed to the employees.
Through the discussions with the scientific staff of Prolepsis and their active participation during the seminar, the employees expressed great interest in the material presented.
During the seminar, the participants were also informed about the Program on Food Aid and Nutrition Education – DIATROFI, which is implemented for six consecutive school years in socioeconomically vulnerable areas throughout Greece.
ZARIFOPOULOS S.A. supported the Program this year by offering organic extra virgin olive oil for the preparation of meals distributed to the schools. With the matching funds provided by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, founding donor of the DIATROFI Program, and ZARIFOPOULOS S.A.’s offer, a total of 2,250 healthy meals were provided to students of schools participating in the Program.
